Bay Area Divers, Inc., formed in November of 1983, is a club for scuba divers that meets once a month (except peak dive season) to plan dive trips, social activities, current events, and just have fun! We also put on the annual Shipwreck and Scuba Conference held each November in Huron, Ohio.
Membership is open to anyone interested in diving and socializing with other divers. Most club members are from North Western and North Central Ohio (from Toledo to the eastern subburbs of Cleveland and south to Columbus).
"Diving and Exploring Guam"
Although Guam is a United States territory and a significant base for Navy and Air Force personnel, it is rare for Americans to travel to Guam as a pure vacation destination. Yet the island offers a wide variety of sights, unusual geology, and good diving and is uniquely positioned in the Pacific. Many species associated with more popular destinations such as Palau and Yap are found in Guam. The island was also a major battlefield in World War II and features the War in the Pacific National Park Service Museum and has Japanese, U.S., and German shipwrecks to dive. Cindy and Kevin will talk about their trip to Guam and what they saw while touring and diving the island.
