- A diver’s view of underwater life after the ship
sinks.
Cris Kohl
– Diver and author of Titanic-The Great Lakes Connections,talks about
how relatives and family members of the Titanic in the Great Lakes area,
were affected by its sinking on April 12, 1912. One of the survivors,
Frank J. Goldsmith, Jr., who lived in Mansfield, OH, was able to tell the
story of that fateful night to his family.

– Grandson of Titanic survivor Frank J. Goldsmith, Jr., will share some of
his grandfather’s stories when Frank Jr., then age 9, got into a lifeboat
with his mother, leaving his father, Frank Sr., behind.

On Oct. 11, 1999, while at the helm of the 63’ wooden trawler Carol Sue
II, the vessel took on water near Conneaut, OH and sank in 5 minutes.
Jim will tell how he and the other 2 crew men survived. Video by Georgann

Dennis Hale-
Daniel J. Morrell, a 586’ lake freighter sank in a fierce storm on
November 29, 1966 in Lake Huron. Dennis was the sole survivor and
he will share his story with the audience as he has done regularly since
1987.
