Evening Program:
After Dinner Amazing Shipwrecks; Incredible Stories!
- Dark Descent - Diving and the deadly allure of the Empress of Ireland
by Kevin McMurray. Based on his book, Dark Descent, this program
relates the history of the grand ocean liner and features views of the ship
as she rests today.
- Titans Clash!! Then Death in the Abyss -by David Trotter. The
steamer Frank H. Goodyear sailed into a heavy fog and oblivion as she
collided with the northbound James Woods in an event that changed Great
Lakes maritime history! David Trotter and his crew of underwater
explorers take us to the ship and unlock the mysteries that surround her! |
Dinner:
Approx. 6:30pm
A wonderful choice between chicken or beef will again be
offered. The meal will be catered by the Holiday Inn which has always
hosted a wonderful dinning experience. |

Learning About Shipwrecks
by C. Patrick Labadie
Great Lakes shipwreck expert, Patrick Labadie will share his unique
knowledge about ships and their history. The workshop will include
providing an understanding of wooden ship construction, a chronology of
great lakes ships, wood to steel and sail to steam. Participants
will have a greater understanding of shipwrecks as well as learning
about opportunities for shipwreck projects, research, and much more! |
