The Great Lakes my be filled with thousands of shipwrecks, but only one is
recognized throughout the world. The Edmund Fitzgerald made
headlines when it sank, topped the charts as a ballad, and has continued
to be controversial as a dive destination. This premier show will
feature the true story behind the expeditions that visited the Fitz.

Presented by world-renowned instructors, this workshop is like no other
opportunity you have ever had! Shipwreck diver, author, underwater
photographer and explorer Gary Gentile will start off the workshop by
teaching you how you can bring the experience of diving shipwrecks &
sea life back to the surface to share with your friends and family through
the use of underwater or housed traditional cameras. Then, equally
famous Sue and Jack Drafhal, authors, world explorers and featured
presenters, will join us from Oregon to share ways to use digital
photography during your dives, from basic camera choices, still and video,
computer compatibility and software to creating presentations or
publishable photo shots. |

Diving Destinations and Historic Shipwrecks! 1:30pm - 4:00pm
Final Run: The 1913 Storm - Ric Mixter What was the worst storm to hit the
Great Lakes? Shipwreck Researcher, Ric Mixter will chronicle each of
the 4 gales of November and will feature the 1913 storm.
Presentation will include exclusive interviews from storm survivors and
incredible music.
Crossroads of Disaster: The Straits of Mackinac Shipwrecks by Cris Kohl
and Joan Forsberg. The narrow corridor of the frequently
fog-shrouded water connecting Lake Michigan and Lake Huron hides some of
the best preserved shipwrecks in the Great Lakes - join Cris and Joan for
a view of diving here.
